Elsie L. McClung, 93, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born October 31, 1924, daughter of the late Leslie Bernard and Anna Henrietta Hull Jackson. Elsie was a homemaker and also worked at Stout’s Drug Store as a clerk. She was an avid reader and a member of Stephenson United Methodist Church where she helped with the monthly community luncheons. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Butch) Vandergrift of Parkersburg; three sons, Dale (Kim) McClung of Rockport, J. Keith (Kathy) McClung of Waverly, IA and Wayne (Elizabeth) McClung of Parkersburg; sister, Anna Lee Stull of Greenwood, IN; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and expecting #8 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny L. McClung and step-brother, Bernard F. Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Kent Lower officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
