Elma Elizabeth Stalnaker

Elma Elizabeth (West) Stalnaker, a cherished homemaker and beloved family member, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Parkersburg. Born on February 7, 1944, in Belleville, WV, Elma lived a life full of warmth, love, and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Clinton and Elma West, her dear spouse, William Stalnaker, and her beloved daughters, Debra Kay Stalnaker and Patricia Lassiter, as well as her grandson, Grover Stalnaker. Elma also rejoined her siblings Junior, Pete, John, Polly, and Wayne in her eternal resting place.

Elma is survived by her son, Billy Stalnaker, and her siblings, Diane Milhoan (Gordon), Connie Backus (Gary), Darrell West (Aleta), and Irene Butcher (Mike), who have been a constant source of support and love throughout her life’s journey. Elma’s legacy also includes her cherished grandchildren, Nancy Stalnaker, Willis (Abel), Sandy Bacorn, and Josh Lassiter (Jessica), as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Elma's days were often filled with the joy of solving jigsaw puzzles, a favorite pastime that showcased her patience and attention to detail, traits that reflect the love and care she so generously gave to her family and friends.

The family has entrusted Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in South Parkersburg to carry out Elma's final wishes to be cremated. No public services will be held at this time.

Elma will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will undoubtedly live on through those whose lives she touched.
