Eleanor M. Gifford

Eleanor M. Gifford, 76, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on July 27, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born November 9, 1939, Calhoun County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel McIntre McCray. Eleanor worked in retail at Gabriel Brothers and G.C. Murphy's. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, watching cooking shows and also enjoyed cooking. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Gifford; two daughters, Angela Lipscomb of Parkersburg and Arlette Foutty (James) of Vienna, W.Va.; two sons, Richard McCray (Barb) of Brohard, W.Va. and Art Gifford II (Sara) of Parkersburg; one brother, Johnny Goodnight of Brohard, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Russell, Arnold and Bill McCray. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg with Pastor Jamie Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brohard, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. at the funeral home.
