Eileen Barton

December 21, 1933 — July 17, 2017

Dorothy “Eileen” Simon Barton, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at The Willows. She was born December 21, 1933, in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oscar D. Simon and Helen S. Bush Hill. Eileen was a graduate of Harrisville High School, Mountain State Business College and retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a Supply Tech. She was a member of The Pentecostals Church of Parkersburg and enjoyed going to church and worshiping with her church family. She is survived by her children, Janet (Rickie) Holley of Plum Branch, SC, Gary (Vickie) Barton of Warrensville, SC, Sharon (David) Kelley of Graniteville, SC, Richard Barton of Parkersburg; Linda Simon who she loved as a sister; grandchildren, Nancy, Rebecca, Andy, Chrissie, and John; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Jessica King; and one great-nephew, Levi James King. Eileen was preceded in death by her father, Oscar D. Simon; her mother, Helen S. Hill; step-father, Teddy R. Hill; brother, James D. Simon; aunt and uncle, Pansy and Bill Hill; uncles, Paige Bush and Lynn Bush; her husband of twenty six years, Albert A. Barton and a special cousin who she thought of as a brother, Walter Hill and his wife, Donnis. With heartfelt thanks to Camden Clark Medical Wound Center and the ICU department, Willows Nursing Home, Amedisys Hospice Care of Parkersburg, Dr. Stephen Hannah, Cornerstone Health Care Group and her church family The Pentecostals of Parkersburg. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at The Pentecostals of Parkersburg with Pastor David Bounds officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice Care in memory of Eileen.
