Edwin Paul Guinn, 94, of Wyngate, passed away May 4, 2017 at his residence, after an extended illness. He was born February 6, 1923 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Wallace and Harriett Gordon Guinn. Edwin was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1940. After high school he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he worked for the B&O Railroad. He served in the U.S. Navy from February of 1943 until March of 1946. Edwin went on to work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio where he retired as purchasing agent after many years of service. Edwin was a world traveler. He loved classical music and was an avid supporter of the arts. He was active in several environmental and nature conservancies including The Audubon Society, The Grand Canyon Trust of whom he was a board member, The Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA),The Nature Conservancy, and contributed to numerous other preservation organizations. Edwin is survived by his sister, Joan Mason of Vienna; his nieces and nephews, Craig (Ben) and Letha Mason of Washington, WV, John Mason of Pinellas Park, Florida, Mike and Linda Mason of Knoxville, Tenn., Brenda and Fred Linsell of Wexford, Pa., Brett and Lea Ann Mason of Vienna; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Nell Bryan Guinn; two sisters, Eleanor and Helen Ruth; a brother, John Guinn; and a long-time friend, Travis. At Edwin's request he has donated his body to the Human Gift Registry at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. A memorial service honoring Edwin's life is being planned and will be announced by Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg. The family wishes to thank Lea Ann Mason for Hospice Cordination and also Edwin's care givers, Brenda Byrd, Betty Powers and Becky Goings, Housecalls Hospice and Dr. Byler and his staff.
