Edward S. Wendelken 84, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away May 23, 2016 at Parkersburg Care & Rehab. He was born July 18, 1931 in Reedy, W.Va., Roane Co, the son of the late Sargeant and Pauline Cline Wendelken. Edward graduated from PHS in 1950 and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from DuPont after 35 years of service. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and being with family. Edward was a member of the Color guard with the American Legion Post # 15 in Parkersburg and was a member of Vienna Baptist Church where he formerly sang in the choir. He is survived by two sons, Bruce E. Wendelken (Pam) of Elizabeth, W.Va. and Scott A Wendelken of Little Hocking, Ohio; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. Wendelken; one son, John Wendelken; and one brother, Jack Wendelken. Services for Edward will be held 11:00 a.m.. Friday, May 27, 2016 at Vienna Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg with Military Rites by the American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Donations may be made in Edward's name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the charity of your choice.
