Edward “Gene” Chadock, 89, of Vienna passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility. He was born June 12, 1930 in Macfarlan, WV, a son of the late Lester E. and Myrtle C. Roberts Chadock. Gene was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He had worked at the Pennzoil Company at Brohard, WV for 19 years prior to going to work for E.I. DuPont, where he retired after 18 years of service. Gene was a member of the Masonic Lodge #172 in Vienna, where he received his 50 year pin, and a prior member of the Burning Springs Masonic Lodge #132 A.M. & F.M., a member of the Vienna Chapter #151 and Williamstown Chapter #58 Order of The Eastern Star and a prior member of the Grantsville Chapter #73 Order of The Eastern Star; a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Vienna and a prior member of the Bethel United Methodist Church; and a member of the Vienna Senior Citizens. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Janet Booher Chadock; his son, Steven E. Chadock (Cathy) of Walker, WV; sisters, Evelyn Sansom of Berryville, VA, Noreta Murphy (Bernard) of Macfarlan, and Rev. Sue Jones of Parkersburg; his grandson, Tyler Gene Chadock (Malorie) of Waverly; his granddaughter, Allison Chadock (Ryan) of Walker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Grant Chadock and Wayne Chadock; and sisters, Freda Schoolcraft, Mary Chadock, and Norma Graves. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor Cindy Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Pointe for their care and support given to Gene.
