Edna Catherine Kerns, 86, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Camden-Clark Medical Center, St. Josephs Campus. She was born May 25, 1926 in Ritchie County, W.Va. a daughter of the late Melvin and Jessie Haught Hannan. She was a homemaker and retired from the Wood County Board of Education after several years of service. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #14 Parkersburg, Parkersburg Womens Club, and was a member of the Parkview United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. Morris of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, David E. Kerns and wife, Anne also of Parkersburg, W.Va.; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Edith Myers of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Kerns; a half-sister, Gladys Ocholtree; three brothers, Ronald, Robert, and Leo Hannan; and one great-grandchild, David E. Kerns.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 atLambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., with Pastors Kenneth Nolan and Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
