Edith A. Wortman

Edith A. Wortman, 97, of Parkersburg, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home. She was born November 3, 1920, in Raleigh County, WV, a daughter of the late Roy T. and Maude Arthur Hutcherson. Edith retired from Wilson’s Clothing after 24 years of service as a manager. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by her two sons, Roy Davis of Washington and Jack Davis (Virginia) Arizona; one daughter, Sharon Berry (Joe) of Virginia; daughter in-law, Shirley Davis of Parkersburg; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her first husband, Joel O. Davis; second husband, James T. Wortman; two sons, Franklin Davis and Joel “Tom” Davis; four brothers, Roy, Bill, Russell and Lonnie Hutcherson; and three sisters, Mary Thodas, Ruth Lawler and Carolyn Clark. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Kurt Busiek officiating. Interment will follow at Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon, WV. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity of MOV 600 16th St. Vienna, WV 26105.
