Edith Ione Lewis, 90, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.She was born February 22, 1923 in Richwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Bailey and Sarah Alkire Roach. Edith was a homemaker and was retired from K-Mart. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She is survived by her two children, Linda Fury and Diane Mercier (Mike) all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a sister, Sharon Howerton of N.C.; and three grandchildren, Charlie Fury of Fairfax, Va., Sarah Mercier of Columbus, Ohio, and Melody Mercier of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Lewis; son-in-law, Gary Fury; one brother, Lloyd Roach; and three sisters, Freda Young, Juanita Cook and Christine Roach.Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Marian Duvall officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.The family wishes to thank The Auguste's Cottage at Eagle Pointe for their care.
