Edith F. Bullard

Edith F. Sellers Bullard died May 14, 2018 in Marietta, Ohio at the Pines of Glenwood. She was born May 10, 1916 in Tariff, West Virginia to Asbury and Vonnie Looney. She was 102 years and 4 days old at the time of her death. She lived her early life in Looneyville, West Virginia. She married Kenneth E. Sellers on September 16, 1939. He died in 1955. Her second husband was James L. Bullard whom she married July 24, 1961 and who preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by her son Roger D. Sellers (Paula) of Belpre and daughter Patricia Mitchell of Cambridge; her sister Fannie “Pete” Mills of Parkersburg; her grandson Michael (Tara) of Cambridge; granddaughters Anastasia (Michael) Elliott of Marietta, and Beth (Timothy) Cross of Norwich, Ohio. She has 6 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Y. Sellers of Belpre. In her early years Edith worked in a logging camp for 50 cents a day where she cooked meals for the crews. During World War II she worked at American Viscose. She was a great cook and was well known for her cherry pie, sugar cookies and countless gallons of soups that she canned and gave to friends and family for many, many years. She was a member of the Homemaker’s Club in Parkersburg and made many lifelong friends there. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Linden, West Virginia in her early years. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her much loved grandson, Roger D. Sellers II, and her two brothers Daniel Looney and Asbury “Jack” Looney. Services will be Thursday 1:00 p.m., May 17, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio with The Very Reverend Paul L. Hicks presiding. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial donations can be made to Monday Feeding Program at Trinity Episcopal Church, 430 Juliana Street, Parkersburg, WV, 26101. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care given to Edith at the Pines. She was able to spend her last years surrounded by people who gave her wonderful care and love.
