Ed Canary

Ed Canary, 76 of Parkersburg passed away peacefully in his sleep May 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 24, 1940 in Parkersburg son of the late Delbert Ray Canary and Mary Beatrice Dye. He was a graduate of PHS and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Ed had worked in sales and management in various locations around the country. In Parkersburg, he had worked at both City Beer and Capitol Beverage. He loved John Wayne and the mountains and views of the West. Locally, he was well liked and known for both his cowboy hat and his willingness to help others. Ed is survived by a step-daughter, Megan Vesel (Frank) of Parkersburg; step-sons, Matthew Spence of Parkersburg and Miles Spence (Lidiane) of Bloomery, WV; a brother, John Canary (Sandy) of Columbus, OH; a nephew, John P. Canary of Parkersburg; five grandchildren; and friends, Kitty Brown and Mary Showalter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Canary.
