On May 14, 2017, the Lord called home a very special man. Earnest E. Barker, I was born September 5, 1944 to the late Floyd T. Barker, Sr. and Edna Mae (Barker) Delancy. He was known as Earnie, Big Earnie or Big E. He was loved by many. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Marines Corp. for six years which he served with pride. He received a purple heart. He never met a stranger and was a wonderful father and he was loved by his children, Earnest “Earnie” Barker, II, Joseph “Joey” Barker and Amber Barker Casto. He was a very special grandpa to Courtney Barker, Valerie Bennett-Barker, Chandler Barker, Alyicia Barker, Haleigh Bennett-Barker, Kaylynn Casto, Braden Casto, Aaron Barker, Aarika Barker, Kiylee Bennett and Delilah Kincaid. He was a wonderful great-grandpa to Bryson Cale and was anxiously looking forward to another great-grandchild in July. He had many friends and treated everyone he met with love and respect. He is survived by four sisters, Shirley (Rob) Duley, Anneke Sue Barker, Mary Miller and Rebecca (Tony) Civitillo and six brothers, F. Tom (Missy) Barkers, Jr., James (Michelle) Barker, Lenny (Kelly) Barker, Rick (Mary) Barker, Billie Paul (Maddie) Barker and Billy Delancy, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be met in Heaven by his parents, three children, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, three sisters and five brothers. He will be missed by everyone whose life he entered. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Ayers Barker Cemetery in Smithville, WV. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
