Earl "Stan" Stanley Johnston

Earl Stanley “Stan” Johnston, 70, of Elizabeth, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his residence. He was born October 20, 1949, in Wirt County, WV, a son of the late Charles Stanley and Wilma G. Bailey Johnston. Stan was a 1968 graduate of Wirt County High School. He retired from the Millwright Local Union #1755 where he also taught at the apprenticeship hall. Stan previously worked at Union Insulating later changed to Challenger. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Flesher Johnston; his daughter, Tiffany Johnston (Jose Zermeno) of Mineral Wells ; two step-sons, Nathan Curfman (Heather) of Elizabeth and Scott Curfman (Angela) of Ravenswood; four sisters, Elizabeth Ann Collins (Richard) of Mineral Wells, Jeanette Pursley (Bill) of Newark, WV, Lelia Coe (Steve) of Elizabeth and Betty Myers (Randy) of Parkersburg; former wife and mother of his daughter, Shelia Boggs of Mineral Wells; grandson, Alex Zermeno; and step-grandchildren, Hayden and Lucas Curfman and Hannah, Cade and Riley Curfman. In addition to his parent, Stan was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Sue West, Terry Wilson, Debbie Rockhold and Steve Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, with Dr. Mary Beth McCloy officiating. Burial will follow at Merrill Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Tuesday and 10 am till time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
