Duane Harley

Duane H. Cox, 75, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away October 4, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 6, 1940 in Cheveauxdefrise, W.Va. in Ritchie County, a son of the late Harley and Susan Samantha Ware Cox. Duane was a graduate of Harrisville High School and was a pitcher on the baseball team and was known as “Paddle Foot”. He retired after 30 years of service from the Cabot Corporation in Pleasants County, W.Va. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and especially going to Lady Lake, Florida with his wife every winter. He was a member of The Ark Church in Belpre, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of over 28 years, Mary Lou Nelson Cox; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Buzzard of Harrisville, W.Va., Angela Dawn Dotson of Clarksburg, W.Va. and Jodi Marie Riggs (Henry) of Louisville, North Carolina; one step-daughter, Jeannine Burwell (Mike) of Vienna; one step-son, Rock Wilson of Williamstown, W.Va.; one sister, Jean Boyce of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one brother, Billie C. Cox (Patty) of Harrisville; six grandchildren; Nicole, Matthew, Presley, Cruz, Mark, and Daniel; six step-grandchildren, Brandi, Brock, Quinn, Timber, Sky, and River; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline; and two brothers, Jack and Graden. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016 at The Ark Church, 501 Main Street, Belpre, Ohio, with Pastor Joe Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna is assisting the family with arrangements.
