Carpenter, 83, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away at his residence on November 12, 2010.He was born May 20, 1927, in Calhoun county W.Va., a son of the late James Rufus Carpenter and Hattie Gay Starcher Carpenter.Doyle was a retired Concrete Finisher with the Parkersburg Union, Local #2307. He enjoyed golfing. Not only was he a wonderful grandfather to his own grandchildren, but he was also known as the neighborhood grandfather.He is survived by his loving wife Janieve Mae Greathouse Carpenter, they were married for 63 wonderful years. Also survived by his daughter, Mary Lucas (Bill) of Cocoa, Fla.; son, Edker Carpenter (Dorothy) of Belpre, OH; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.Funeral services will be Tuesday November 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street-South with Pastor Samuel Kinnaman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg.
