Doy Lee Cunningham, 77, of Davisville, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a battle with ALS, Friday, May 31, 2024. He was born February 16, 1947 in Gilmer County, a son of the Late Doy and Julie Yeager Cunningham.
Lee was a truck driver and drove for many companies including, Schneider Trucking, Westside Transport, United Cartage, Florilli, and Jim Palmer Trucking. He was known on the CB as Grey Beard and his grandchildren called him Papa Grey Beard. Lee never met a stranger and was always telling jokes. Lee was a Mason 32nd degree and a member of Chapter 14 Eastern Star.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years, Pamela Cunningham; his daughter, Jennifer Roberts (Chris) of Hurricane, WV.; his son, Jeffrey Cunningham (Nichole) of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Alanna and Brenden Roberts and Lillian and Baby girl Cunningham arriving in September.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Cunningham; sisters, Betty and Jessie Rogers, Wanda Snider, and Linda Cunningham; brothers, Richard and Roger Cunningham; and grandson, Trevor Cunningham.
In following Lee’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Amedysis Hospice, 2200 Grand Central Avenue, Suite 102, Vienna, WV 26105 or the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd Suite 600 ,Arlington , VA 22209.
