Dorothy Ellen Layman Wells, 80, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on November 21, 2016 at The Willows Center. She was born February 14, 1936, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Brooks and Iris Schultz Layman. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and she loved her dogs, Spike and Molly. She was a member of Grace Gospel Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Sue Harris (Joe) of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Tina Knopp (Robert) of Walker, W.Va.; one son, Ronald C. Wells II of Parkersburg; one sister, Linda Nedeff of Parkersburg; two brothers, Brooks Layman (Patty) and James Layman (Carolyn) both of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Leslie Couture (Chris), Amy Harris, Robert Knopp (Wendy) and Meghan Budzyn (Matthew); and eight great-grandchildren, Tristan, Liam, Ayden, and Quentin Couture, Millie and Maci Budzyn and Robert and Brooks Knopp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Wells Sr.; infant daughter, Karen Wells; and her sisters, Geneva Schell, Betty Memel, Carolyn Holliday, Margaret, Marjie and JoAnn Layman. Funeral services will be held at 11: 00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
