Dorothy Lee Metz

Dorothy Lee Metz, 85, of Mineral Wells, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born December 27, 1934, in Wirt County, WV, a daughter of the late George D. and Henrietta K. Yeager Cunningham. Dorothy had previously worked as a telephone operator in the Akron and Parkersburg area. She enjoyed bird watching, sketching/drawing, puzzles, crafts, computers and looking forward to the future. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and attended the 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold J. Metz; three daughters, Vickie Huber (Kenneth) of Milford, OH, Paula Kirl (Timothy) of Mineral Wells and Katherine Barry (Wayne) of Boonsboro, MD; one sister, Phyllis Nutter of Canton, OH; one brother, Frank Criss of Petroleum, WV; and her grandchildren, Ethan Kirl of Parkersburg, Morgan Ashcraft (Nathaniel) of Parkersburg, Ryan, Shane and Shannon Barry all of Boonsboro. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her three brothers, Harold and George Cunningham and Gene Criss; and one sister, Sylvia Nelson. A private family gathering will be held at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation in honor of Dorothy.
