Dorothy Dawson Lovelady

Dorothy Dawson Lovelady, of Vienna, W.Va., died December 29, 2010, at St. Josephs Hospital.A longtime resident of Vienna, W.Va., Dottie was born November 4, 1927, in Old Hickory, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Bessie L. Dawson.She was a Protestant by faith and a retiree of the Bureau of Public Debt. Dottie was an avid lover of sports, especially football, baseball, and Nascar.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, her beloved son, Craig; and her husband of fifty-two years, Hugh H. Lovelady, Sr.Dottie is also survived by a sister, Carolyn D. Hayford of Charleston, W.Va.; her daughter, Deborah D. Phillips and husband Brad of Vienna, W.Va.; her son, Hugh H. Lovelady, Jr. and wife Jan of Phoenix, Arizona; one beloved granddaughter, Amber Rae Mace and husband Kevin of Vienna, W.Va.; and her babies,her great-grandchildren, Charis Rae, Elias Matthew, and Calista Joy Mace.Friends may call at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Graveside services with burial will conclude services on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, Virginia at 2PM.The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers Stacy Duley, Joyce Wells, and Wanda Hart for their care, love, and kindness.Our family would also like to thank the St. Josephs Hospital Surgical Services Department, Dr. Dominic Cottrell, the staff of the Intensive Care Unit, and a special thank you to Dr. Michael D.
