Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Sims 83, of Vienna, WV, previously of Lancaster, CA, passed away January 16, 2018 at The Willows Nursing Home in Parkersburg. She was born September 15, 1934 in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Hazel I. Shonk Mood. Dottie was a 1953 graduate of Paris High School in Illinois and was a Sunday School teacher in Palmdale, California. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, quilting, cooking and baking and was an accomplished organ player. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit and live in numerous places, both here and abroad, as an Air Force wife. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward E. Sims; daughter, Cathy Frailey (David) of Williamstown, WV; son, Micheal Sims of Seaside, CA; grandchildren, Sherri Frailey (Chris) of Columbus, OH and Mark Frailey (Jenni) of San Antonio, Texas' and great-grandchildren, Aiden Frailey, Olivia Cunningham and baby girl due in May 2018. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Sims; and two brothers, Bill and Gene Mood. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna is assisting the family with arrangements.
