Dorothy Carez Johnson

Dorothy Carez Johnson, 95, of Parkersburg, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at Parkersburg Care Center. She was born June 14, 1929 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Omer L. and Maggie I. Jordan Carez.

Her professional background includes Sears, McCroy’s, Viscose Plant, and she ultimately retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a lab tech. She loved her family and friends dearly. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles,reading and dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly M. Mathers (Jack); sons, David W. Johnson (Tamara) and Michael Siders (Cindy); grandchildren, Amanda Sheppard, Christina Johnson, Kasandra Demster, Mindy Carsey, Brandon Siders and Noelle Long; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Dorothy R. Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, John W. Johnson; sister, Irene Bungard; brothers, Harry and Oliver Carez.

Funeral Services will be held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bob Riffle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held prior to the funeral service. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
