Rock Hill, SC

Dorothy Lenore Parrish Elsworth, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away February 25, 2026 at the age of 94.

Born November 7, 1931, in Liverpool, West Virginia, Lenore was the oldest of three children born to Rudolph and Mattie Parrish. She grew up in Ripley, West Virginia, and graduated from Ripley High School, Class of 1949. After high school, she attended Mountain State Secretarial School before beginning her career at the DuPont Washington Works plant in the 1950’s.

Lenore later stepped away from her career to devote her time to raising her “two boys.” In the mid-1970’s she returned to DuPont, where she worked for another 30 years before retiring.

In 2003, Lenore moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina to be closer to her family. She became an active member of the Four Seasons Gold Hill senior community, where she built many friendships and enjoyed an active lifestyle. At age 85, she proudly earned the community title of bocce champion.

Lenore was the heart of her family – a loving mother, grandmother, and proud matriarch. She loved traveling, playing games, and was known as a fiercely competitive dominoes player. She also loved to cook and was especially famous among family and friends for her oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

She is survived by her brother, Hayward Parrish of Columbus, OH; her two sons, Greg Morris (Lindy) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Jim Morris of Fort Mill, South Carolina; and four grandchildren, Tyler Morris (Whitney) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Holly Beale (Hunter) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Devan Shaw (Alex) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Isaiah Morris (Sara) of Owasso, Oklahoma.

Lenore is also survived by four great-grandchildren – Dempsey, Willa, Lilja, and Luca – with a fifth great-grandchild expected in July.

She was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Ronald Parrish, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alan Elsworth, and her former husband, Raymond Morris.

As the matriarch of her family, Lenore leaves behind a foundation of love, resilience, and togetherness that will guide her family for years to come.
