Dorothy Ellen Davis

Dorothy Ellen Davis, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024 after an extended illness. She was born September 28, 1936, in wood county, a daughter to the late Myrtin B. and Nora F. Williams Snyder.

She was a 1955 graduate from Parkersburg High School, after marrying her loving husband, Robert G. Davis on December 21, 1954. She later worked as a secretary for Waters Insurance. She was a Methodist by faith, and enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by a brother, Robert E. Snyder (Jackie) of Mineral Wells; sisters-in-law, Gail Snyder and Cynthia Snyder; brothers-in-law, Gene Duckworth and James Forshey; brothers and sisters-in-law; Dayton and Mildred Gaston, and Delbert and Vickie Davis; and several nieces and nephews, and their children.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Davis; a son, Fredric L. Davis; sisters, Doris Duckworth, Lillian Forshey, and Jessie Goodwin; brothers, Harold, Marvin, and Blaine Snyder; and father and mother-in-law, Harry and Norma Davis.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Dave Carrico officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleums. Family will accept visitors from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dorothy, Robert, and Fredric’s honor to a WVU of Parkersburg nursing scholarship of donor’s choice, sent to 300 Campus Drive, Parkersburg, WV 26104.
