Dorothy (Dottie) May Bonar Davis, 87, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away peacefully December 11, 2011, at Pine View Nursing Center, Harrisville, W.Va. She was born December 25, 1923, in Murraysville, W.Va., a daughter of Nelson Edward and Ada Polk Bonar. She graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1940 and married her husband of seventy years, William (Bus) Eugene Davis, on September 20, 1941 in Winchester, Virginia. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church for 59 years where she served on the Altar Guild and sang in the choir. She was a 50 plus year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Dottie was a homemaker and had worked at Sears & Roebuck, AB Chance, and Pennzoil. She enjoyed bird watching, bowling, family genealogy, traveling, and most of all, spending time and playing games with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, William (Jeep) Davis, Jr. and wife, Rose, Mechanicsburg, PA; Dorothy (D.D.) Frum and husband, Rev. John Frum, Harrisville, W.Va.; and Wanda Hickox and husband, Charlie, Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Will Davis, and wife, Megan; Anne Davis and fiancé Antonio Pinto; John Frum, and wife Evelyn; Scott Frum, and wife Melissa; Elaine Hageman, and husband, Mark; Chas Hickox; Chris Hickox; Daniel Hickox, and wife, Andrea; and great-grandchildren, Alana and Chloe Frum; Jake, Tyler, and Cody Hageman; Zane Hickox and Ally Miller; brothers, Robert Bonar, Ravenswood, W.Va.; William Bonar, Parkersburg, W.Va.; Jackson (Jack) Bonar, Brandon, MS; and Dr. Daniel Donald (Don) Bonar and wife Marty, Granville, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Jamie Frum; a brother, Nelson Edward Bonar; and an infant sister. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dottie's life from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va., and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Wayside United Methodist Church, (next to the funeral home), with Reverend Dr. Pat Kerr and Reverend John Frum officiating. Interment in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, W.Va., will be at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Wayside United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3001 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. 26105 in Dottie's memory.
