Doris Imogene Rogers Hoffman,84, fell asleep in death Feb. 9, 2015, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was a resident at Heartland of Marietta the last few months of her extended illnesses where she received loving care.Doris was born Feb. 17, 1930 to the late Brady Rogers and Edna Newland Rogers at Bullcreek, Newlandsville, W.Va. Doris married Guy Eugene Hoffman and lived at 19th Street and 36th Street in Parkersburg. She was the manager of the Music Dept. at G.C. Murphy's, where she worked, from age 18 until the store's closing in 1986. She had a son, David K. Hoffman, in 1958.Doris enjoyed gardening at her homes and the family farms at Bullcreek and Calhoun County. Doris became a wonderful grandma in 1991. She is survived by her son, David Hoffman and daughter-in-law, Ronna Lee Hoffman; grandchildren, Tabatha Waldron of Colorado, Timothy Waldron of Mineral Wells, Sarah Hoffman of Parkersburg; and two great-grandchildren, Sequoyah Matibag, of Colorado, and Kai Waldron, of Parkersburg. Doris is also survived by sister, Donna Cain (Bernerd) of Parkersburg.Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Guy Hoffman; brother, Wilfred Rogers; and longtime friend, William Eddy. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg. Officiating Doris's funeral, will be Brian Richards, a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses, South Parkersburg Congregation. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
