Donald William “Bill” Murray, 75, of Parkersburg, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born April 5, 1949 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Donald James and Jean Frances (Pennybacker) Murray. Bill was a 1968 graduate of Parkersburg High School and received his Associate Degree in Business from Parkersburg Community College. As a young man he ventured to try his hand in the family business at Murray Sheet Metal. After working under his uncle and mentor, Jack Murray, he developed a passion for entrepreneurship. He went on to start many business ventures with the most notable being Toot and Shoot Drive Thru, The Pizza Peddler, Downtown Motors and Cool Springs Water Boy. Above all, he found the time to be a loving father with a fierce pride for his sons and a great friend to many. Bill is survived by two sons, Dymond Murray and Blaiz Murray (Nilum) all of Parkersburg; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Murray (Sherry) of Parkersburg; one nephew, Shawn Murray of Fairmont; and the mother of his children, Jan Hartman (John) of Vienna. Per Bill’s request, there will be a private visitation. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held on Saturday April 27th at the I Don't Care Eatery, 6255 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, with a special time of remembrance at 3:00. Billy was known as a fighter throughout his life and now his fight has ended. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St. Parkersburg is honored to serve the Murray family.
