Donald Franklin Jenkins,

Donald Franklin Jenkins, Sr., 79 of Belpre passed away after complication of pneumonia Jan. 27, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1937 in Wood County, W.Va. son of the late Edwin B. and Mae Deem Jenkins. He retired from the Parkersburg Army Reserve unit after 30 years of service. He later retired from Overnite Transportation after 20 years of service. Donald was a member of the American Legion, the FMCA Camping Club and the WV Good Sams Camping Club – Wild & Wonderful Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Betty Kuhn Jenkins; a son, Donald Jenkins Jr. of Shepherdstown, WV; a granddaughter, Mallory N. Jenkins of Clinton, TN; a brother-in-law, Wayne R. Metz of Virginia; and his Yorkie, Pierre. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Major David A. Jenkins; a sister, Annabelle Jenkins (Danison); and two brothers, Paul E. and Gary A. Jenkins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.
