She was a daughter of the late Charles F. “Fred” and Julia Grady Kesterson.She was a 1952 graduate of Belpre High School and after graduation was employed by the Belpre Open Air Theatre, Bonnette's Drycleaners and O'Ames.On October 15, 1955, she became the bride of Robert E. Amos also of Belpre. They are the parents of Robert E. Amos, II of Belpre, OH; Gelia Ann Amos-Keeton of Florida and Kelly Sue Amos of Belpre, OH. She has two grandchildren, Zachary (Christy) Amos and Elisha Amos; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Kaeli Vannoy, and Wesley Amos. Also surviving are two sisters, Eleanor (Bob) Wingrove and Lois (Gary) McClung both of Little Hocking, OH; one brother, Charles (Louise) Kesterson of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will always be loved by her family beyond measure.Dee joined the Belpre Church of the Nazarene as a child; starting at the age of three, she sang for 72 years with her sister Eleanor and cousin Eileen at area churches. She served in many capacities in the church including Sunday School and Bible School teacher–teaching all ages from nursery to teens; church steward and board member. She especially loved singing with her family and in the church choir, a church quartet, BHS Alumni choir and auditioned for the Ted Mack Amateur Hour at the Smoot Theatre. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Nazarene Church–the highest honor given to a Lay person.Dee and her husband operated The Pines Antique Shop from 1979 until 2001. They helped restart the Belpre High School Alumni Association in the 1990's. She was also a member of and donor to Belpre Historical Society.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert E. Amos; a special niece, Jennifer McClung and cousin, Eileen Stokes Moody.Funeral services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., at the Belpre Church of the Nazarene, Putnam Howe Drive, in Belpre, with Rev. Will Neff and Pastor Ralph Tisdale officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery in Belpre. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at the Belpre Church of the Nazarene.Lambert-Tatman of Belpre is assisting the family with arrangements.
