Dixie Lee Holcomb, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born April 5, 1947, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Wilmer and Luzzetta Scheer Duerr. She was a 1966 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a homemaker, and retired from Selby General Hospital in Marietta, Ohio after 33 years of service. She enjoyed shopping, camping, playing Bunco, socializing with friends, genealogy, and gardening. She was an active member of Independent Baptist Church in Vienna. She is survived by twin sons, James Holcomb (Jackie) of Parkersburg and John Holcomb (Suzanne) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; two daughters, Megan Suder (Andrew) of Panama City, Florida, and Rebecca Holcomb of the state of Washington; eight grandchildren, James Scott, Bailey, Josh, Blake, Brooke, Barrett, Stefanie, and Ricky; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison; and two sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Holcomb and one sister, Luzzetta Duerr. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Independent Baptist Church in Vienna with Pastor Mike Elder officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. Her family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
