Denton L. Parks, 83, of Parkersburg died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home. He was born July 9, 1935 in Cairo, West Virginia, a son of the late Charles and Opal Parks. Denton retired from E.I. DuPont after 36 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and six children, Tim Parks of Parkersburg, Steve Parks and wife, Sheila, of Williamstown, Benjamin Parks of Maryland, Rick Wilson, Paula Wilson both of Parkersburg, and Rebecca Wilson and spouse, Wayne Stiffler, of Washington, West Virginia. Denton also had nine grandchildren, Devan Wilson, Dana Stiffler, Hannah Stiffler, Daniel and Adam Parks, Caitlin Rebensky, Allison Parks, and Rebecca and Elizabeth Parks, as well as five great-grandchildren. In addition, Denton is survived by one sister, Shirley Westfall of Bridgeport, West Virginia, cousin and lifelong friend, Harold Parks of Waverly, a brother-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and many other relatives and friends, including special friends Bob and Penny Eddy, all of who will mourn his passing. A celebration of Denton’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the family’s convenience.
