Delbert M. Pierce, 86, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1929 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Ruby Lockhart McCoy. He retired from AB Chance Company with over forty two years of service. Delbert enjoyed bluegrass music and was a member of the United Methodist Church by faith. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Weaver of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren, Christine Yates, Roger Morrison, Lisa Ritchie and Katie Wigal and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Avonell M. Jackson Pierce; one daughter, Debbie Lauer; and one sister, Mildred Mackey. Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 South Parkersburg with Jim Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
