Debra Jane Wingrove

June 28, 1958 — January 10, 2016

There is now a video tribute to Debra on this web site. Miss Debra Jane Wingrove 57went to be with her heavenly Father, January 10, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Waverly, (Pumpkin Knob), WV, where she lived with her father and mother. She was born June 28, 1958 in Marietta, Ohio, to Luther Burdette Wingrove and the late Delores Ruth Wingrove (Moore). She battled the demon of muscular dystrophy since she was four years old. Always a fighter and never giving up she won most conflicts. Debra inspired others around her to make the best of each day regardless of the stumbling blocks. However, on Christmas day she went to the hospital for the final stand. This war was with pneumonia and ailing kidneys, and after three short weeks and being on a ventilator she decided to go home. Though she did not get to go to her earthly home, she was ready for that journey to her heavenly home and God received her with open arms. Debbie was loved by many, the number of visitors gave evidence that were with her in the hospital and/or sent messages of prayer and well wishes. She had a very happy life and didn't let her disease rule her world. She followed her brother anywhere they could get into things. She finished high school, went to college, worked in the public, cared for her nieces and nephews, drove her own car, supported the children at sporting events, cared for her parents, and lived life to the fullest possible. She faithfully attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church at Bull Run, WV and helped with bulletins and was in the choir. As technology caught up with her, everyone that was on her cell phone list could receive “Good Morning, I Love You”. In addition to her father she is survived by her sister, Jean Cutlip (Don); brother, Lewis Wingrove (Becky) and their children, along with several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Special friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Wingrove. The celebration of Debbie's life will begin with visitations at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.. Funeral services will also be at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna on January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Brady Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church on Bull Run Road.
