Dawn R. Jeffrey Sams, 55, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2011 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital due to complications of juvenile diabetes and a head injury.In death, she was surrounded by her loving family.She was born Nov. 20, 1955, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Ruth Adams of Pettyville, W.Va. and Weyman Jeffrey of Parkersburg, W.Va.Dawn formerly worked at Hills Department Store in Marietta, Ohio.She collected angels, enjoyed decorating and loved watching game shows with her family.She loved to spend time visiting with family and friends.She attended the Seventh Street United Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Donald D. Sams; her son, Wyatt Tanner and her grand kitty, Blue, of Columbus, Ohio; step-children, Heather Sams and Brian Sams of Mineral Wells and David Sams, of Outer Banks, N.C.; two sisters, Darlene Kieffer of Canton, Ohio and Diane and her husband, Jonathan Davis, of West Union, W.Va.; one brother, David and wife, Mary Jeffrey, of Pettyville; one step-brother, Bill Adams and one step-sister, Missy Deeter, both of Maryland; step-grandchildren, Evin, Noah, Nyle, and Ethan of Mineral Wells, Hannah, Wesley and Brodey of Outer Banks, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Angie, Bernie and Marcy, Sara and Todd, Lori and Tim and David; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.She was preceded in death by her step-father, Wayne Adams; her step-mother, Tessie Jeffrey; and one step-brother, Wayne Adams, Jr. At Dawn's request, her body was donated to the WVU School of Medicine Human Gift Registry.A memorial will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Rev. Norman Butler officiating.Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
