Dawanna Ann Smith (Leisure), born April 5th, 1961, passed away on April 15th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones at Camden Clark Medical Center. Dawanna was a caring woman who was loved by many.
Throughout her life, she was a feisty lady; she fought cancer several times over many years.
She was obsessed with Glee and murder documentaries. Dawanna loved horses and wolves. She was an avid sweets lover.
Dawanna was an amazing grandmother. She loved to spoil them, always up to watching the kids. She would cook dinner nightly – being known for her fried chicken and pineapple – upside down cakes.
When something was wrong, grandkids run to Grandma. She loved to give hugs and get snuggles from the kids. She would call her grandkids “ornery butts”.
When her daughter was fighting an autoimmune disorder, she took her in. During that time, she made sure that the kids were tended to; she would make Mickey Mouse pancakes when they stayed over.
Her daughter Dena stayed with her for years and helped care for her. Along with Dena, her husband and children stayed.
Dawanna is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Donald; her great-granddaughter, Ava; her brother, Joseph Dale Leisure and her parents, Carol Ann Hagerty Leisure Wilcox and Joseph Dale Leisure.
