David Lee Sims, 73 of Parkersburg passed away Jan. 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 9, 1943 in Parkersburg a son of the late Coy and Lula Courtney Sims. He formerly worked at the Viscose, Ideal Box and Corning Glass. He was most recently a bartender at the Rendezvous Lounge. He served his country in the National Guard. He is survived by one daughter, Davina Cox (Franklin) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; one son, David Todd Carder (Mindy) also of Elizabeth; three sisters, Shirley Joann Valentine of Parkersburg, Donna Bartlett (Chris) of Little Hocking and Carol Gollsby of Peoria, AZ; two brothers, Mike Sims (Violet) of Parkersburg and Gerald Sims (Lynn) of Rock Springs, Wyoming; four grandchildren, Allison Cox, Kaitlyn Cox, Devon Dye and Kayla Gibson; two great-grandchildren, Brody and Avona; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ed; one sister, Wilma; and one infant brother, Eugene. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg with Pastor Tom Gribble officiating . Burial will follow at Riverhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
