David Shawn Russell, 40, of Charleston, W.Va., formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va., celebrated Resurrection on February 9, 2011, at Charleston Area Medical Center. He was born February 3, 1971, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of John Russell (Nancy) of Parkersburg, W.Va.David was currently a student at WV State College and was also employed with Richard Wilbur Construction in Charleston, W.Va. He had a gift for the arts, and very much enjoyed filmmaking. He also enjoyed watching old movies and reading. In addition to his father and step-mother, he is survived by his children, Lauren Groseclose of Huntington, W.Va. and Amber Russell of Charleston, W.Va.; the love of his life, Cayde Cappellari and her children Torrence and Darius of Charleston, W.Va.; his sister, Aimee Russell (Anita) of Marietta, OH; three brothers, Chris Russell (Jaimie) of Morgantown, W.Va., Ron Sams (Lisa) and Sam Sams (Kristi) both of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one niece; and five nephews. He was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents and also his step-grandmother. Funeral services will be conducted at 3PM Sunday, February 13, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., with Rev. Rick Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 8PM on Saturday, February 12, 2011, and one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
