David Allen Rice

David Allen Rice, 75, of Williamstown, passed away December 21, 2024 at the Parkersburg Care Center. He was born July 8, 1949 a son of the late William E. and Audrey Beall Rice. After graduation, David went to serve our country honorably in the United States Marines, serving during the Vietnam War. Later, he worked for the City of Parkersburg where he retired as a heavy equipment operator. He also owned and operated Rice’s Lawn Service. He is a member of the Shrine Marine Corp League, American Legion #15, Ben Bey Grotto, Moose Lodge #1118, VFW #12, and the Shrine Motorized Unit. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Teresa L. Rice; children, Micheall L. Moreno (James) and David R. Rice (Vickie Hewitt); nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Rice; a sister, Shelia; half-brother, Chuck; and an infant brother, William E. Rice, Jr. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Matt Null officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, is honored to serve the Rice family.
