David Brooks Coplin, 85, of Parkersburg, W.Va. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2015. He was born April 3, 1930, in Doddridge Co., W.Va., son of the late Brooks and Minnie Cox Coplin. David graduated from Doddridge High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1955 where he was stationed in France for three years and served in the Korean War. He retired as a millwright from Kaiser Aluminum after 36 years of service. He was an active, long standing member of Grace Gospel Church where he served as a trustee for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. David is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Linda Mae Shafer Coplin; his son, David Michael (Heather) Coplin of Parkersburg; two daughters, Linda (Jody) Miracle and Sheila (Jack) Hunley, both of Parkersburg; one brother, Pauldin Glade (Shirley) Coplin of Weston, W.Va.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen Richards and Una Mae Ford. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Interment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
