Darlene Mary Constance Paul (née Sobczyk), of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, passed away at her home at the age of 67.
Born in Buffalo, New York, Darlene was the beloved daughter of Matthew and Emily Sobczyk, who lovingly raised her. Darlene attended West Seneca East High School. She met the love of her life, Theodore W. Paul, while working on a college project, and the two were married on November 17, 1978. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community.
In 1992, Darlene and Ted moved their family to Mineral Wells, where they raised their children and established deep roots in the community. A devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Darlene was actively involved in church life and rarely missed a school activity, church event, or family gathering. She was happiest when surrounded by people and was well known throughout the community for her friendly spirit and genuine interest in others. Whether she was visiting her favorite local stores, chatting with friends and neighbors, or striking up a conversation with someone new, Darlene had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed.
Darlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, and soon-to-be great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from watching her family grow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Emily Sobczyk, and by her beloved husband, Theodore William Paul.
She is survived by her eleven children: Meredith (James) Raber, Theodore J. Paul, Emily (Cory) Carr, Matthew Paul, Barbara (Jeffery) Paul, Kevin Paul, Eileen (Jonathan) Winsley, David (Jasmine) Paul, Phillip Paul, Brian Paul, and Mary (Isaac) Snyder. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Taylor and Shawnie (Daughtery) Raber, Amy (Raber) and Cristian Colon, and Reese, Piper, and Cameron Raber; Henry and Madalynn Carr; Peter and Tristan Winsley; Holly and Harvey Snyder; and Ezekiel Paul. Darlene was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild, James Andrew Raber.
Darlene will be remembered for her kind heart, her spunky personality, and her unwavering love for family, faith, and friendship. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who knew and loved her.
