Date and Time of Service: Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. – Belpreposted 9/30/2010 at 6:03:31 PMDarl E. “Bud” Welch, 73, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.He was born Dec. 22, 1936 at Cutler, Ohio, a son of Margaret I. Knight Welch of Cutler and the late Herman D. Welch.Bud was a 1955 graduate of Bartlett High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired as a maintenance supervisor from Union Carbide/Eveready Battery Plant with 33 years of service. He was a member of Coolville Masonic Lodge No. 337 F.&A.M. and a faithful member of Bartlett Bible Baptist Church. Bud enjoyed hunting, golfing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Pamela Piersol and husband, Dr. John, of Belpre, Peggy Neill and husband, Brian, of Belpre, and Phyllis Church of Belpre, and her companion, Michael Hall, of Ellenboro, W.Va.; a son, Marty Welch and wife, Teresa, of Vincent, Ohio; the mother of his children, Judy Ann Clark, of Belpre; nine grandchildren, Bradley Neill, Steven Pottmeyer, Timothy Neill, Zachary Welch, James Neill, Cody Welch, Alicia Pottmeyer, Andrew Neill and Megan Neill; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Bryce Neill; a sister, Marian Coen and husband, Dave, of Guysville, Ohio; a brother, Terry Welch and wife, Angie, of Cutler; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog and companion, Tucker.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Coen.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre with Pastor Jack Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Liberty Cemetery in Cutler. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.Memorials are preferred to Marietta Home Health & Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
