A Video Tribute to Dana is now available on this site.Dana Harold Gill, 85, of Little Hocking, Ohio departed this life at ArcadiaNursing Home on Friday, November 14, 2014.He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on November 4, 1929, a son of the late Harold and Edith VanWormer Gill.Dana graduated from Bartlett High School with the class of 1948. He was a member of the Cutler Chapel United Methodist Church and a 60 year member of Bartlett Masonic Lodge 175.Dana was employed in the oil field for many years, working as a driver and operator for Halliburton Company and was an OTR driver for E. I. DuPont for 24 years, having retired in 1990. Dana and Jean Clark were married November 11, 1955 and were the parents of three wonderful children, Rick, Roger and Valli Gill.Surviving are his wife, Jean Clark Gill; daughter, Valli Gill (Rebecca) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; grandson, Ryan Gill and granddaughters, Dana Lee Gill and Kyla Lynn Gill, all of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Kenneth Gill (Mary) of Marietta, Ohio; nephew, David Gill and great nephew, Andrew Gill, both of Whipple, Ohio; great niece, Megan Gill of Marietta, Ohio; sister-in-law, Barbara Watkins (Jerry) of Little Hocking, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sandra Irvin (James) of Little Hocking, Ohio; nieces, Dawn Irvin and Angela Watkins of Little Hocking, Ohio and Wendy Irvin of Belpre, Ohio; and great niece, Vadalyn Watkins and great nephew, Dexter Watkins, both of Little Hocking, Ohio.In addition to his parents, Dana was preceded in death by his sons, Roger and Rick Gill; and nephew, Barry Watkins.The family also wishes to thank the Arcadia Valley Nursing and Rehab staff and residents for their kindness, many friendships and devoted care.A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio with Pastors Earl James, Jr. and Robert Randolph officiating.Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services Sunday. Masonic services by Bartlett Lodge 175 will occur at the conclusion of the visitation prior to the services.Burial of cremainswill be at Decatur Methodist Cemetery at the family's convenience.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Moamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605, in memory of son, Roger N. Gill, who battled leukemia for 2-1/2 years, before succumbing on May 28, 1995, or The American Heart Fund, in memory of son, Rick L. Gill, who died on May 29, 2010 or to The Diabetes Association.
