Dalphine B. Nelson

Dalphine (Dal) B. Nelson, 84 of Vienna, passed away January 8, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 27, 1933 in Goody, KY, the daughter of the late Alexander and Marie Lowe Blackburn. Dal retired after 24 years of service from the Wood County Board of Education where she was an instructional teacher's aide at Nash, Jefferson and Neal Schools. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time and doing for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Colette McMillion (Tim) of Parkersburg, WV; son, Rev. Dr. Gary Nelson (Patti) of Cross Lanes, WV; four grandchildren, Tom Nelson, Rebekah Tarbet, Robert McMillion, and Nick McMillion; and two great-grandchildren, Lylee McMillion and Reese Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nelson, Jr.; three sisters, Dainese Emody, Winogene Toler and Yvonne Gillespie and two brothers, Alfred and Tennyson Blackburn. A family graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna is assisting the family with arrangements. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wayside United Methodist Church or the Good Samaritan Center located at the church.
