D. Marlene "Cricket" Roberts

Marlene “Cricket” Roberts, 83, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away October 5, 2016 at the Willows Center. She was born June 12, 1933, at Cox's Mill, W.Va., a daughter of the late Coy A. and Iva Heflin Short. She was a case worker for DHHR for 26 years, was a member of the Williamstown Church of Christ and loved going to the beach. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Kendall (Arden) and Lori Queen (Tom) all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Randy Roberts of Marietta, OH; a close friend, Shirley Morris (Pat) of Williamstown; four grandchildren, Barry and Derek Boice, Leah Allen (Aaron) and Tina Roach (T.J.); and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one great-grandson, Lazarus Christoher Boice; one daughter-in-law, Inda Roberts; two brothers, Clyde and Lairy Short; her former husband, Gene Roberts; and her Persian Cat (Lacey). Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Evangelist David Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
