Clinton Ladd Pifer, 41, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on March 3, 2013 at his residence.He was born Nov. 3, 1971, in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of Dr. Robert G. “Jerry” and Barbara L. Whittington Pifer of Mineral Wells, W.Va.Clint graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University in Landscape Architecture in 1997 and was a self-employed Landscape Architect in the Parkersburg area for over eighteen years. He enjoyed cooking and sports activities. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Dr. Laura Ann Rider and her husband, Steven of Opelika, Ala.; niece, Keely Rider; nephew, Hunter Rider; one aunt and uncle, Dr. Randolph and Kim Pifer of Keyser, W.Va.; and the love of his life, Heather Hildebrand of Parkersburg.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Graham E. and Margaret “Maggie” Pifer; and his maternal grandparents, Carroll L. and Kathleen C. Whittington.A memorial service in honor of Clint's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells, W.Va. with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
