Cleo “Geny” DresselCleo Genevieve “Geny” (Tracewell) Dressel, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away peacefully in her home on March 15, 2011.She was born on March 26, 1923 in Parkersburg, the daughter of Benoni and Ruth Black Tracewell.Cleo graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1942 before relocating to Baltimore, Md. where she worked until her retirement from Lockheed Martin where she was one of the “Rosie the Riveter” girls during World War II.She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Martha Jane Tracewell of Parkersburg and Ruth Ann Tracewell of Vienna, W.Va; and several nieces and nephews including her special nephew, Jay M (Pamela) Tracewell of Mineral Wells, Sarah Tracewell, Jeff Tracewell and Tom Tracewell, all of Mineral Wells, Marianne Paulsen of Alexandria, Ind., Nancy Stotts of Decatur, Tenn. Terry Topolsky of Orlando, Fla., Kenny Tracewell of Parkersburg and Kay Martin of Vienna.She is also survived by a cousin, Helen Vogel of Parkersburg.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph P. Dressel; and two brothers, Edward B. Tracewell and Cecil L. Tracewell.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Dobby Thrash officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.Special thanks to her caregivers Minnie Goff, Micki Goff, Pam Goff and Linda Goff who remained by Cleo's side during her extended illness.
