Clarence Earl “Gib” Mowery, 79, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on January 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1937, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Claude and Roxie Cochran Mowery. Gib retired from O'Ames after thirty seven years of service. He enjoyed playing country music with the pedal-steel guitar and other instruments. He collected watches and knives. He was Pentecostal by faith and went to the Revival Center. Gib is survived by his wife of fifty years, Brenda McGraw Mowery; one daughter, Amy Suek (Steve) of Wilmington, NC; one son, Bryan Mowery (Brooke) of Washington, W.Va.; five siblings, Charles Mowery (Anita) of Ravenswood, W.Va., Daniel “Barney” Mowery (Karen) of New England Ridge, W.Va., Jane Deem of Parkersburg, Kate Braham of Parkersburg and Judy Life (Pearl) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Nathan Junkins of Pittsburgh, PA, Chase Bell of Washington, W.Va., Amanda Marie Mowery of Harrisville, W.Va., Steven Grant Suek of Wilmington, NC, James Earl Mowery of Harrisville, and Madison Bell of Washington; several nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Mowery; and a sister, Lou Mowery. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Randall Fusion officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
