Clara Kirk Brookover 72, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away August 23, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 16, 1943 in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of the late Willis Brewer and Olive Thompson Kirk. Clara retired from PSHS as a teacher after 23 years of service. She was co-owner of Vienna Wrecker Service and Tri City Towing and Recovery. Clara was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8127, Women's Auxiliary and attended Unity Faith Chapel of Pettyville. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harlan Dean Brookover; one daughter, Leah Lent of Vienna; one son, Everett Brookover (Kathy) of Vienna; four grandchildren, Jason Brookover (Rose McKinney), Joshua Brookover, Isaac Lent and Hannah Lent; one great-grandchild, Brantley Brookove; and two fur babies, Cuddles and Angel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father and one infant brother. Funeral services for Clara will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna with Pastor Lloyd Keith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen North Cemetery in Parkersburg, Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
