Claire J. West

Claire J. West, age 94 of Cutler, OH, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at The Harmer Place in Marietta, OH.

She was born July 18, 1931 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Sidney G. and Frieda M. Hoyt Johnson. Claire retired from the Warren Local School District and was secretary at the Bartlett Elementary School. She was a member of the Bartlett Bible Believing Baptist Church and she loved her horses.

Claire is survived by her son, Adam K. West (Dawn); one brother, Howard Johnson; two grandchildren, Zachery and Camron West and nieces and nephews, Sam, Roger, Jay and Aaron Johnson, Cathy Johnson, Olga Thomas and Leslie Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Evelyn Smith; one brother, Gordon E. Johnson; and a nephew, Loren Johnson.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 9, 2026 at Sunset Memory Gardens.
