Chester Allen Wheaton, 70, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus in Parkersburg, W.Va. He was born Oct. 28, 1940 in Ripley, W.Va., a son of the late Dores and Nellie Bates Wheaton. Chester was retired from Phoenix Associates Inc. where he was a mechanic and equipment operator. He enjoyed gardening, ocean fishing, bluegrass music, and helping others. Surviving is his wife, Dixie Vencill Wheaton; one son, Gregory Wheaton of Davisville, W.Va.; one daughter, Melissa Mosier and husband, Justin of Albany, Ohio; one step-daughter, Rhonda Cogar and husband, Daren of Belpre, Ohio; one brother, Dennis Wheaton and wife, Barbara of Flint, Michigan; two sisters, Virginia Guess and Sylvia Randolph and husband, Clyde all of Coolville, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Lyle Riddle of FL; two grandchildren, Tiffany Wheaton of Davisville, W.Va. and Brittany Ellis of Albany, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Gage and Paisley Ellis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters; Otis, Virgil, Richard, Arthur, Raymond, Viola Wheaton, and Julia Riddle; and one brother-in-law, Don Guess. Memorial services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Ken Fullerton and Pastor Okey Ahart officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in Chester's memory.
